WE REMEMBER VINNIE PAUL
A Cowboy in Heaven
Join us as we pay tribute to Vincent Paul Abbott, March 11, 1964- June 22, 2018.
Vinnie Paul Abbott, born in Abilene, Texas, son of Country singer, Jerry Abbott; along with his brother “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott (August 20, 1966-December 8, 2004), was the founder of Heavy Metal icon Pantera, and Damageplan. Vinnie Paul was a legend in the Metal community, and as a drummer forged musical styles which would pave the way for many Heavy Metal acts to follow. Vinnie Paul was known for his larger than life personality, and sense of fun. Vinnie Paul was a gifted drummer with the talent to blend various musical styles. Along with “Dimebag” he worked on a project with David Allan Coe, Rebel Meets Rebel, and later with former Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray, he went on to form HellYeah. Everyone who had the pleasure to meet Vinnie Paul, shared their love for him; and for his fun loving spirit.
At Outlaw review we bow our heads to reflect on the life and work of Vinnie Paul, and the impact he has made to the Metal community, and to the world. Vinnie Paul will be dearly missed by all. Words cannot convey the depth of heartfelt sympathy we have for his family and friends, and the tremendous loss his presence will be to the music world. We dedicate this page to Vinnie Paul, and hope you will join us in sharing in his memory. We know that the tragic loss of his brother “Dimebag” was a tremendous heartbreak to Vinnie Paul, as it was to us. Vinnie Paul’s loss though equally a heartbreak, now also symbolizes the reunion we feel he has made with “Dime”. As you review this page, and the thoughts and images shared here, please take a moment of silence for Vinnie Paul. It is with deep sorrow that we pay our respects, but with deep joy that we know another Cowboy from Hell, joins his brother in Heaven.
Rest in Peace/ Rest in Power Vincent Paul Abbott. Much love, and Respect to our brother.
